Donal Murtagh - TON-80 at The Lincoln Inn
This TON-80 submitted
by Donal Murtagh at 11:03 AM on 1/4/02.
- It was a glorious Spring day, and myself Cunty and Carolan were celebrating the submission of our degree projects with a few pints of the black stuff (Murphys, of course) and a 3-way game of 301.
- Having hit the requisite double to start, on my next visit to the oche, I pinged the first arrow straight in the middle of the treble 20 bed. The second seemed to land close to edge of the bed and I paused to check whether it was in or out (Cunty later confessed that he felt this was a fatal mistake and would disrupt my concentration). Still unsure about whether the ton-80 was on or not, I lined up the third one, and sent it home.
- A roar went up from the chalker (Cunty) - I knew then I'd done it, finally....
- The lads shook my hands and took photos. I cried, and thanked my parents. Later on complete strangers approached me to offer their congratulations and I was carried shoulder high around the college bar - Dublin's a small place. I got really sloshed, what a day...
My darts round of 180 points with 3 darts was Witnessed by:
- Peter Cunningham
- Paul Carolan
