- January 23, 2001 - Championship Finals
- Expecting to gather splinters after losing a heartbreaking 301 game in the previous set, (on a championship finals night), unwavering support was behind me, from my team. Prior to shooting, Joe was concerned that my pint glass didn't appear to be handy and that he needed to get me a refill. Dave, my partner, got us rolling by doubling in on his opening throw. I scored a typically, uneventful double-digit round. My next approach to the line had a calm and surreal feel. I felt a 8T0 was to be thrown. (Deja vu, all over again!) Being focused, I shot 2 darts into the trip 20's, near the trip 1 wire, not completely sure if they were in fact in. With confidence of being in the zone and without hesitation, I fired the last dart into what was a wide open trip 20. We proceeded to shoot very well for the remainder of the game and inspite of the "8T0 curse", we won the game easily. Having shot less than a dozen 8T0's, since being involved with darts within the last few years, I remember the same experience prior to each one. I am interested in hearing from other shooters if a similar experience is felt prior to shooting. I can be reach at: DJACKBOX@aol.com. I wish you all success in progessing in your game, but most of all, unless you have the mortgage at stake in a game, have fun shooting!
