- For several years,I was a member of several local dart leagues. The last two years times and schedules have kept me from enjoying the sport. A newly opened club installed a dart game. The bartender knew I was familiar with the game and the small early group went to the game to throw a little for fun. The bartender asked me to share what I knew. I suggested a game of cricket, explained how it was played and we loaded up our quarters. Being the only regular darter in the group, they asked me to throw first. I first went to my car and retrieved my old dart vault from the trunk, blew off the dust and opened my trusted hammerheads. Amid the typical ruse comments, I stepped to the throw line and said " First you should try to close the 20's". I then threw my first ever Ton-180. Obviousily I was excited and feeling tall, but when I turned around my friends had laid their bar darts down and asked if anyone wanted to shoot pool. We finished the game and had a great time. I didn't shoot as well for the remainder, partially because of peer pressure and part due to loss of talent. I was aware that the memory and skill quickly began to return. I will join a league for the bar this winter session. I forgot how much fun and enjoyment this sport was. You have a great site, keep promoting the fun and pleasure of darting.
