North American Open Darts Tournament

Aladdin Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, Nevada USA August 15-17, 1997

For 28 years, the North American Open Darts Tournament has been one of the most prestigious steel-point darts events in the United States. CyberDarts covered the 1995 and 1996 NAODT, this year we were back with our new DartCam! The Aladdin Hotel & Casino is the 1997 venue, on the strip near Bally's and NewYork- NewYork. Tournament directors Tom & Della Fleetwood, along with their crew, did their usual great job of preparing and setting up this year, and the 80 Nodor boards are well laid out in the main ballroom. As always, Thursday and Friday were mostly devoted to ADO events, such as the East-West team match, ADO Youth event, and the National Championship. The Friday night Blind Draw 301 drew 590 entries, not unusual for the NAODT, but a staggering number for many who are used to regional events where 200 entries is considered great! CyberDarts covered the event all weekend, posting live and time-lapse photos from our DartCam. These are available in the photo archive.
