An attempt was made in Germany (Wiesbaden) to obtain the most points scored during a 24 hour time period by a team called Top Bull.
The venue was held in the main arena for V:W: (Auto Rossel) On January 30, 1998.
The venue and time started in a flurry of high scores and settled down to a figure per hour ratio Led to the setting of a new world record. The players took rest periods every 45 minutes for refrehments (consisting of milk, and soft drinks). We are happy to report that a great supprt was given by people visiting the event and also much support by the back room boys and girls.
A number of companies donated equipment and loaned the use of machines:
Direct Dart (Weisbaden) - supplied hand-made darts and flightsHarrows England - gave Darts shirts and Long Life plastic points
Lowen S.P.O.R.-T - electronic dart machines (new Generation)
With this much help, any record can be broken.
Harrows was proud to be associated with the record breaking achievement of the Top Bull Team and were happy to provide the apparel and the long life soft tip points which in conjunction with Direct Dart made the whole possible.
The new record was obtained within a period of some 21 hours to beat the current score of 1,772,249, but the team pressed on to add as many points as possible in the next three hours. When all was said and done, Top Bull had scored 2,104,171 points in 24 hours, breaking the world record that had been held by Australia since September of 1995.
