Because of two targets and a shared processor, the Black Widow
can determine with split-second accuracy which dart got to its
target first. This opens doors for to a whole new family of
interactive games based not onlyon accuracy, but also on
speed.
Interactive play is the biggest innovation in darts since the knights of the middle ages were throwing pointy things at the end of logs. Interactive games offer more fun and excitement - especially for those who never played darts before. The Black Widow aims to increase casual play. In Quikdraw, be the first (and only) to score by hitting the randomly lit number when the light turns green. In Quicket, steal the opponent's darts by hitting the magic number first. As an extra bonus, even traditional games are more fun when played interactively. In Tic-Tac-Darts, Race to own the number. In Cricket, Race for points before the number is closed.

The
Black
Widow
can be wall-mounted on a base. Each of 12
buttons is labeled on the screen definig its function in plain
English - even after the function changes. No need for player cards,
the hard disk stores league matches, schedules and standings. Coupled
with higher speed and two-way communications, league management
becomes a breeze. League fees go in the bill accepter and are
reflected in the accounting on the screen. Software updates can also
be accomplished by modem. Without a modem, all the software functions
can be accomplished automatically by the collector using a Jaz drive
(like a high-capacity floppy).
