World Cup 2001

Team member update

Qualifying points for World Cup team ended June 30. However, there were tournaments that had not sent in results, which has held up the final announcement of qualifiers for this year's team.

As of July 18, the last two sets of results were expected in the office by July 20. This will enable the office to enter those tournaments into the system and run out complete point totals for each person in contention (see most recent Double Eagle for list). Those reports then will be shared with the players to make certain there are no discrepancies. The announcement of remaining team members is expected to be made within a week.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for players trying to make future plans--particularly in view of the conflicting events that take place at the same time as the new dates for World Cup.

However, it would not be in anyone's best interest to risk error by rushing the process, and that process cannot be complete until all qualifying tournament reports are submitted.
