NEW CRICKET CHAMPS CROWNED
ADO Adds Credit Cards; Anniversary Souvenirs Available

Anaheim, Calif. Fifty cricket enthusiasts finalists in the ADO 2000 cricket championships° convened at the New York-New Jersey Open in Fairfield, N.J. on Super Bowl Weekend to put their strategic skills to the test. In every year since its inception in 1996, a new champion had been crowned in both the men's and women's cricket events. But this time was a little different: reigning champion Lori Verrier, Salem, Ore., successfully defended her title over 17 other female finalists. In the end, it was newcomer Jennifer Daggy of San Francisco who had the last chance to unseat Verrier, but Daggy had to settle for second place.

On the other side of the playoffs, it was San Bernardino, California's Paul Lim who won the first cricket finals in 1997 who stormed back to claim the title again this time over Scott Wollaston of River Ridge, La. in the finals. Last year's men's champion Tim Grossman of Hudson, N.Y., was knocked out in the semi-final round of the 38-person event.

Semi-finalists among the women were 1997 champion Marilyn Popp, Milford., Conn.; and Julie Nicoll, Shady Side, Md. Men's semi-finalists were Grossman and 1999 champion Steve Brown, Edwardsville, Ill.
