ADO READIES FOR NEW ALL-STAR LOCATION
Thirty Days Left for World Cup Qualifiers; U.S. Team Next Up

Anaheim, Calif. With summer upon us, East-West All-Star and Youth qualifiers are asking what Cleveland has in store when the ADOís annual festivities move there in August in conjunction with the Cleveland Extravaganza.
All qualifiers will receive coupons from the Cleveland Convention & Visitors Bureau for discounts at local attractions. In addition, itís an easy jaunt from the Sheraton Hopkins via rapid transit to downtown Cleveland. For just $1.50, you can get to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, the Great Lakes Science Center or Jacobs Field to see the Major League Baseball Cleveland Indians. Another short ride will take you to the Flats, a restaurant and entertainment district equal to that of any major city. Or take a lunch or dinner cruise on the Cuyahoga River. A $10, two-hour tour of historic Cleveland is available if 20 people sign up. This will be offered on Thursday afternoon prior to the Welcome Party if there is enough interest. (Contact Sandi Cain after June 15 for reservations.)

Those coming in early or staying after the tournament could make the hour trip to Cedar Pointóone of the countryís oldest and top-rated amusement parks that includes a 300-foot high roller coaster, Millennium Force. Or visit nearby wineries by boat.
Cleveland was recently rated No. 4 in overall desirability as a meeting and convention destination by meeting planners. Visitors can expect to find a variety of ethnic restaurants at reasonable prices, as well as both old and new tourist districts. And, the city is one of the longest-standing dart towns in the U.S.! So whether youíre coming for the ADOís 25th birthday party or to play in the East-West events, thereís sure to be plenty of additional entertainment waiting for you when your darts are put away. Each regional director has a Visitors Guide to Cleveland to help players plan their trips.

World Cup Competition Heats Up
With June 30 rapidly approaching, those in contention for the remaining three spots on this yearís World Cup team will have to turn things up a notch to ensure their places on the team. Making things more interesting is the fact that World Cup dates were changed and now conflict with the U.S. Team finals, making it a certainty that the team selected for next yearís Americas Cup will be different from the World Cup team. And, with Windy City also changing its dates to the end of September, players are faced with a difficult choiceócompete in an international event, a national final, or one of two tournaments, all on the same weekend. The situation is far from ideal, but could present more players with the opportunity to represent the U.S. abroad.

New Playoff Rules
ADO members are reminded that there is now an option for a runner-up in a regional to ìbuy inî to the national finals. In addition, area managers have discretion in groupings to be used at regionals to allow for time constraints. Players with questions about these changes should contact their regional director or area manager.

The E-Mail is on But Nobody's Home
President Cain will be out of town from June 2 through June 15 and unavailable to answer e-mail or phone calls. Please refrain from sending e-mail during this time! VP Buddy Bartoletta will handle any urgent matters during that time period.
